Roy Hegelstad

Roy grew up in southwestern Norway on a mixed farm, and became a chef in 1991 before spending a good dozen years pursuing culinary arts. Roy and his wife Carmen have always valued spending time with kids. Together with their two daughters they did lots of hiking, cross-country skiing, boating, and fishing. The kids also got to be involved in the family’s small catering business and market food stand.  Roy still enjoys connecting with kids when there’s an opportunity to do so.

Breanne Boivin

Breanne moved to Chase with her family when she was 9 years old. She attended school here. Her love for working with children started early at 12 years old with after-school and weekend babysitting and has never changed, now she runs a Family Childcare center from her home and love every minute of it. Over the last 21 years, Breanne and her husband have raised 4 of their own children and participated in raising many more through her years working in childcare. They have spent most of their years here in Chase except for a 4 year visit to Edmonton for her husband's work. Their love of the Shuswap, the outdoors, and family brought them back to Chase. She loves spending time with her family, her dogs, her chickens, and friends, backpacking, paddle boarding, running, adventuring in the mountains, chocolate, and good coffee. She is passionate about making this community a better place for our children and is so excited to be part of this amazing organization.

Jennifer Fryatt

Jen moved to Turtle Valley in 2010 to start Ranfurly Farm with her husband and parents. Since becoming a mother she has come to understand the difficulties many parents face trying to balance work, childcare and life and is excited to bring her rural perspective and business skills to the CAFS Board. She spends time hiking, swimming, skating and camping with her family whenever possible, and volunteers with minor hockey and minor baseball in Chase.

Bev Amundrud

We offer a variety of programs that are designed to meet the needs of families in our community. From parent education workshops to youth mentoring programs, we provide families with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Our outdoor adventure education programs are particularly popular, as they give kids the chance to explore nature and learn new skills through mountain biking.
